Four injured when two cars collide in Washington
Four people were injured in a two-car accident Friday on Highway 28, near Rock Island, about eight miles east of East Wenatchee.
All were transported to Central Washington Hospital for neck and back pain, according to a State Patrol report. They are Cheryl L. Wood, 54, of Newport, who was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid; and three passengers in her car, who are all from Spokane: Linda J. Tieaskie, 64; Joshua A. McCoy, 28; and Link Y. Miles, 46.
Troopers said the accident happened at about 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of the highway and Rock Island Drive. A 2006 Honda Accord, driven by Eugene P. Doyl, 66, of Rock Island, was eastbound in the left-turn lane to Rock Island Drive. Wood’s Malibu was heading west on Highway 28. According to the State Patrol report, Doyl turned his vehicle into Wood’s.
Doyl was not injured, according to the State Patrol, but his Accord was totaled, as was Wood’s.
